Rain, glorious rain

Wednesday 25.11.09

It's another gorgeous overcast day, n best of all its cool. No stinking humid heat today, thank heavens. With all the bushfires around, the cooler weather and occasional rain is an absolute blessing. For me tho, i just love hearing the rain on the roof, laying in bed with someone to cuddle - this morning its a sleepin Xavier. There's nothing better than listening to the rain, well... maybe listening to a huge storm.

With such amazing "stay in bed" weather.... i have to go into town. The disappointment in having to get dressed n ditch my daggy house clothes, put makeup on and do my hair. Not to mention get 2 kids dressed as well. But with such cool weather, it would suck being stuck at home.... so we're off to enjoy shopping on a rainy day :)

It's incredible to think that just when we dont think rain is coming anytime soon, we wake up to a grey sky and everything is wet outside. God knows just when the rain is needed... lets hope n pray there's enuff to put out the fires and fill rainwater tanks.

Hopefully, the rain will stick around all day and we'll get a chance for an afternoon sleep. I know i sure as heck need one since being awake at 2am to feed Xavier and occupy him for the next hour or so while he was wide awake lol

Thankful Tuesday

Tuesday 24.11.09

Sometimes we spend most of our time focusing on the negative in life, questiong n cursing God for why thiings go wrong. Instead, i aim to live my life focusin on the positives, the thing to be thankful for. So here's what i'm most thankful for today:

* waking up to a brand new day, with my children surrounding me;

* the ability as a woman to be able to breastfeed. Tho some mothers' aren't able to for long or even at all, i hope to be able to continue breastfeeding for a while yet;

* overcast days, especially after such hot, humid weather for previous weeks;

* amazing friends i can turn to when i need someone to whinge to and vent with;

* a loving family who are there for support anytime i need it, their love can always be felt;

* my children who brighten my life just by simply being there. One tiny smile, or a simple "I love you Mummy" never fails to melt my heart;

and most of all,

* a God who loves me unconditionally, who sacrificed his own son so that His love could be shown and so that i can spend an eternity with Him.

What are you thankful for today? Look around you and try focusing on the things that make you smile, the things you couldn't live without. Instead of being negative try being thankful - it's sure to pick ur mood up when you most need it.

Blessed times Two

Monday 23.11.09

After having a blog specifically for the whole break up with James and finding out I was pregnant, up until my gorgeous son Xavier was due to be born, i figure it's about time for a new blog dedicated to anything and everything in my life from here on in :) So a fresh new blog, loads of endless posibilities to ''blog" about - tho most of it will be about my awesome children and my life as a single christian mother.

When stuck for ideas for naming my new blog, i wanted it to be related to something important in my life... hence why i called it "Chosen by the King". 10yrs ago when i was 14 i would never have imagined i'd be in church every Sunday, living my life for God. This is where i am now in my life and couldnt be happier!! I'm so thankful each an every day that the King of kings chose me, and now i can live for Him.

Blessed times Two relates to my most amazing, incredible, gorgeous children. I'm truly blessed to be their mother and to be able to see them grow every single day. My 4yo daughter Kailee has a passion and a love for God that completely blows my mind! She has power of healing in her words as she prays for people and is destined to do great and mighty things for the Lord. She's incredibly smart, loves learning and is very artistic. My 5wk old son Xavier doesnt think much about anything except boobs (and not in a dirty way, hes breastfed people lol). He sleeps, eats, poops and very little else. Growing quickly, he melts my heart when he smiles or starts to 'babble' (baby talk) at me. My children are who inspire me to be a better person and to wake up each morning with a smile on my face.

While i aim to keep this blog as positive and uplifting as possible... sometimes life just sucks. If i start to get too depressing or mopey, please feel free to kick me up the backside lol
